These young women developed and maintained a community garden. The girls participated in all of the activities: soil testing, germinating seeds, planting seedlings, watering, collecting organic matter for our worm composting bins, cultivating, pulling weeds, spraying deer and rabbit repellent and harvesting the crops. The community garden supplemented the Food Pantry at our church. They got their good on during the summer to ensure food for the poor of our community.
