Where to Start...?

I live in a very tiny community (1 sqaure mile) and i'd love to help it out but i feel like the everyone my age is to focused on this and that. But most definitely aren"t thinking about helping others, volunteering, or making a difference for people who aren't lucky enough to even get fed everyday without a free lunch from the school.
