- How did you celebrate Global Youth Service Day?
- On Global Youth Service day there was a festival type event on the beach near my area that I went to with a friend. To get into the event you had to donate 20 dollars which went towards helping the earth and ocean. We were involved in a beach cleanup and picked up cans, bottles, and other trash that was on the beach. It suprised me how much there actually was and it was crazy how much people littered.
- If you were the mayor, what changes would you make in your community?
- If i were mayer some changes I would make in my community would be one to keep the driving routes a little more safe. My community is going through a lot of construction currently and as they are paving or doing other stuff with certian roads they have to make a different route for cars and some of the things they are doing temporarly are not safe. They also don't usually make any changes until there has been an accident. Another change I would make is that everyone try to be a little more eco-friendly. I live in a small town and it wouldln't be that hard to get the word out a little more about how to be more helpful to the environment. Even just promoting more recycling would help tramedously.
- What are the 7 Things or problems in the world you want to help solve?
- Seven things I would love to help solve in the world are one I would do anything to be able to visit Haiti, Chile, and Japan and help them with recovering from the earthquakes that have hit. I know that donations help a lot but it would be a whole other experience and help to them to be able to be there and participate in stuff hands on and get to talk to the victims. Something else is to further promote going green. I think it is extreamly important and I don't think many people realize that or what little they have to do to make a huge difference. Pollution is another thing that I think is a big problem in a few places and I would love to be able to help with that in anyway. That the government even considered to start paying teachers by how their students were doing in the class is completely selfish and ridiculous to me. When I heard about that I mainly wondered if the goverenment thought about the fact that they are already getting paid poorly considering the job they do and if they realized that they have a family to feed and provide for and it is hard for most already to do that with the pay they are getting currently. The fifth thing on my list is to help out in Tennessee where there was very recently a horrible flood. Seeing pictures and videos of how high the water got and how classrooms were ruined in 15 inches of rain was terrible and I can't imagine how the locals there are reacting. I would also love to visit Africa and help provide food and other basic needs for them. I don't want people to forget that they are still hurting and need help as well. The seventh thing I want to help solve is suicides. The program that To Write Love On Her Arms came up with a few months back was amazing. I love the ideas that Miley and TWLOHA came up with to promote it and I think suicide it a very serious problem that needs to be solved. I was so into this organization and when they were in the voting I was posting every day to vote vote vote! It is a blessing that there are so many organizations like TWLOHA that really have an impact and it makes the people that vote and encourge people to vote that they are really helping too. I don't think a lot of people undertand that kids really are the future and what they are learning now and what they are seeing is going to have an impact on the things they do and the changes they do or don't make. It is important to get involved with all that you can and to teach school students more about issues with the earth and the rest of what's going on in the world around them.

- My name is Ashley, I am one person that is doing what she can to make positive changes in my community and state and to encourage others to do the same. I am 13 and have decided to start learning about what I can do and doing it beause I know that I can help make a lot happen. Some of my favorite organinzations and charities are St. Judes Reach search hospital, the Make a Wish Foundation, Hope for Haiti, Save Dade, USO, and more. Visiting people in need of food, homes, clothes, or just someone to talk to, helping further prmote an eco-friendly lifestyle, and visiting and bringing gifts and hope to the patients at St. Judes Research Hospital, are a few of the things that I plan on doing when I get the chance to. I send my love and blessing to all of the people in need of anything and to those who have had to face natural disasters.xoxo<3

Just posting a blog about something that I have starting doing recently to get my good on for those who struggle to put food on the table every day. I have started volunteering at my local food panty as often as I can, which is usually once a week. It makes me really sad to think about those who are struggling to provide meals for themeselves and their families so this is a way to provide those people with food and water. - im doing it to help all my friends. i know whats ts like to hold stuff back and i dont want them to feel like they have too. just the other day my one friends who ive been taking twce a week revelaed what went on at home to me and the counselor. and since then shes been getting help and shes about to move out of her house and into mine because its just not safe there. i never knew just talkng things out could help soo much.

- yea. ive been going to weekly counseling sessions at the teen center at my school with my friends. we're all talk about different things from our lives that bother us and its just a really friendly enviroment. we talk to one of two counselors there. its been really great to have them there. also ots great that i have my friends bahind me to support me as im talking about this
