Welcome Them!

How did you celebrate Global Youth Service Day?: I went vegetarian for the week, I participated in dog walking and tree planting at the SPCA and community center and walked everywhere. I also turned off lights and went outside to read, and didn't use my computer or phone to conserve energy.

If you were the mayor, what changes would you make in your community?: I would put more funds towards green projects, and make more programs that help others, like homeless shelters and gay rights in my town. I would make education about these things more accessible and try to show everyone we're all just people.

What are the 7 Things or problems in the world you want to help solve?: 1. Global Warming. Enough said.
2. Low level of acceptance of people who are different. Who cares if they're homeless, gay, or autistic? They still have feelings.
3. Drug Use, which is a huge problem in Vancouver.
4. Child labour overseas.
5. Hate and Racism
6. Abuse of Women
7. Wastefulness

Short "About Me" section: Hey, I'm Lauren, and I am a girl in grade seven living in Canada. I love animals and volunteer and fundraising work, and started the leadership club at our school. I've met some amazing world leaders like Craig Kielburger and Jane Goodall, and heard the Dalai Lama speak, and they have inspired me deeply. I love reading and writing, and write lots of poetry. I also love talking and being friendly, and helping out with little kids is really fun to me. :D I love people, so drop me a line. ^_^
