Helping the Army soldiers in Iraq

Just a few weeks ago, me and my classmates in the 7th and 8th grade put together a care package for my brother and his friends in the army. Last week, he came home and surprised us all by coming in to personally say thank you to us. He said that it meant a lot to them since they don't get the same kind of treatment as we do, so it made them very happy. We are going to send a few more care packages to them as well. I felt really special and happy when he came to my school :)

How did you celebrate Global Youth Service Day?: I try to recycle my papers at school and use a thermos or a plastic waterbottle for gym class.

If you were the mayor, what changes would you make in your community?: I would make people caught littering do community service picking up trash.

What are the 7 Things or problems in the world you want to help solve?: Any people who abused animal shouldn't be allowed to get another animal, make peace with others, stop bullying in school and punishing the bullies, increase recycling, use the backside of paper instead of throwing it out, help abandoned animals, help plant more trees for your community.

Short "About Me" section: My name is Lauren, and I love caring for animals. I'm trying to see if I can volunteer at an animal shelter to make them feel better.
