- How did you celebrate Global Youth Service Day?
- We are planning a health and safety based celebration for April 23rd, in conjunction with a local community college. We will be hosting a blood drive and distributing Child ID kits. Also, all of our AmeriCorps VISTAs will be receiving First Aid and CPR training.
- If you were the mayor, what changes would you make in your community?
- Our city is in desperate need of a major upgrade to our public transportation system. We have students who are determined to participate in our programs - so much so that they wake up at 6am in the morning just to spend 2 or more ours on the bus to make it to class, the ride the bus 2 or more hours to make it back home after class. This is NOT acceptable.
- What are the 7 Things or problems in the world you want to help solve?
- Poverty, Educational Deficiencies, Gang Violence, Drug Violence and Use, Racism and Hate, Description of Youth, and Youth Empowerment.

- YouthBuild is a youth and community development program that simultaneously addresses core issues facing low-income communities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, and leadership development. In our program, low-income young people ages 16-24 work toward their GED or high school diploma, learn job skills and serve their communities by building affordable housing, and transform their own lives and roles in society.
Our Mission: To build understanding, integrity, and confidence in youth and young adults through education and community involvement.
Our Vision: To create a culture of environmentally conscience, self-sustainable youth and young adults with higher education opportunities for a harmonious future.

YouthBuild to YouthBuild - Lending a Hand in Haiti!
