Hellooo! I hope it's as warm where you are as it is in Ohio this week. I'm loving it! I thought I would update on all of the volunteering that I have been doing this year. Once a week I go to an assisted living with my service club to polish the resident's nails. It's so much fun talking to them and it's great to hear how thankful they are for us helping them. Hi everyone! I'm a big college kid now and eager to find service on my campus. I joined a group called Circle K that is all about service. They have opportunities to go to soup kitchens, animal shelters, and nursing homes. I can't wait to start volunteering with them. There are also quite a few service fraternities here. Hello fellow bloggers! Happy Summer! Less than one month till college. Wahooo. Speaking of college I recently went on a 4 day service retreat for freshman at my college. It was really awesome. One day each small group visited three service sites around the city. My group went to a local church, something similar to a YMCA, and catholic social services which works with families who have visitation hours and watch over them during their weekly meetings. or is that ironic? its been 60s and 70s for the past two weeks, but wait for it....it SNOWED last night. a ton too, it took me forever to scrap off my car this morning. urgggh. i hope you got to celebrate the first day of spring last saturday but going to get free rita's italian ice. i sure did!anywaysss. last week my school had a blood drive for the American Red Cross and I participated along with several of my peers. I absolutely love volunteering. Being able to say that I made a difference in someday's life is the reason that I continue to get my good on. Putting a smile on someones face or just hearing a genuine thank you makes me realize that I am appreciated for every little thing that I do to help others. This Christmas season, Macy's is donating $1 to the Make a Wish Foundation for every letter to Santa that you bring in to their stores. I got really excited about this idea until I realized that a bunch of high schoolers would not want to write letters to Santa, anyways we were already selling so many things at school for the holidays.
