Volunteer at the Food Bank or SPCA

Hey Guys!!

I have thought of some ways that we can help out in our communuties. I haven't ever done this but some friesnds of mine recently volunteered at the local food bank. They stocked shelves and they said it was a lot of fun! I am thinking of volunteering at the SPCA this week. I have no idea what they will have me do but I'm looking forward to finding out. I will make a blog about how it went.

Hello! Paws for Thought... :)

So this is my first blog post on Get Ur Good On, and I'm very excited to be able to talk about the Animal Services shelter volunteering I do. I just started working at the shelter today and played with kittens and cats for about two hours. Very rewarding...even with the scratches! I suggest that avid volunteers look into aiding homeless, hurt, or needy animals, especially in shelters, since mankind cannot forget with whom we share this planet. That's all for now, but I will be…

Kittens! <3

Hey guys! :P

I volunteered for my first time at the Sugar Land Animal Shelter. My sister and I spent two hours playing with cats and brushing them. While their cages were being cleaned and their food and water were being refilled, we got to take them out to the playroom. The kittens were the cutest things, especially when they were chasing a little bell tied to a stick! They would zoom around in circles! :) Holding a little kitten in your arms is so calming. I encourage all…

Sugar Land Animal Shelter!

Good Morning! :P

I attended the Sugar Land Animal Shelter volunteer orientation bright and early this Saturday morning. As a group of new volunteers we got to have a tour of the facilities and listened to a general briefing from one of the experienced staff. Taking care of cute kittens and adorable puppies seems so exciting. This will be my first time volunteering at an animal shelter though, so I am excited to learn the ropes. :) I'll be doing my first shift next Wednesday,…

Birthday Idea

Last weekend I went to a few of my friends' combo b-day party. Instead of presents, they asked for pet food that they donated to a local animal shelter.

People that already have several things and don't need much more could use this as an idea to give back. There are a lot of hungry animals out there and most shelters put down so many. They need more space for one thing for sure, but another thing is food and so that is why I think it is a good…

YOU Can Help The Oil Spill!

So, I am sure you've heard about the oil spill by now. I think probably the saddest thing about that is the poor sea creatures that are dying and getting sick from that oil! But you can help, and you don't even have to leave your town! If you buy Dawn dish soap, they'll donate a dollar of your purchase to help clean up the animals/oil spill. It may be a little more pricey than generic brands, but please, it's worth it!

Thanks. Help the…

Caged Birds?!

When you buy eggs, from the supermarket, i think its horrible that some chicken farmers still keep their animals caged. If you take a look it will either say "From caged birds" or "Free ranged hens". If want to make a difference, next time get "Free ranged hens" theres no difference, apart from that "Free range hens" has a better quailty of life, which everyone, animals and humans deserve.

abandoned animals

Well, in my first post I'll talk about something that to me is very important: Pets abandoned. You need not adopt them, much less build a shelter, simply for a pot of water and food every day in front of his house, and just so you can make a difference.

Abandoned animals are not trash, they feel pain, longing, love, etc.. and what good just look and do nothing? Demand of the active control of animals in your town and do not mistreat them.

Not abandon their pets when traveling, I know… Continue

Each doing their part!

I always wanted to be voluntary, now almost 22 years and graduated in Business Administration, I know how important it is for any human being, a volunteer activity. Be on the environmental or social anyone needs to look a little to others and the environment around them, and try, in one way or another, contribute to both can share learnings. I live in a small town, but my metropolitan state. I live in a rural part, where there are many small and simple farms, where people who live there, people… Continue

Help a local animal shelter by doing something you love!

Hey everyone! I no a great way to do something you love and something good!

Two years ago my friends, sister, and I made jewlery. After we finished making it all we sold it at our beach club, as well as books we've read, and old toys(in good condition). Selling the books and toys was also like recyling(: We decided to raise the money for the ASPCA. My sister drew signs explaing that and put them infront of our stand. People loved the idea of children helping out. We made over $100! It… Continue
