Oh my goodness...

Like the title? I thought it was funny...

Anyway, on Saturday I bought a pen at Sainsbury's supermarket, and 25p of the cost went to Breast Cancer Awareness. Here's the pen:

I know it's not much but every little helps (lol, it's like Tesco). As Aesop (I don't know who it is but I know they said it) said "No act…

Bracelets for a Cancer Patient. Please help!

A friend of my family was diagnosed with brain cancer about half a year ago.  He is not doing well and isn't expected to live much longer (a few more months, maybe a year).  He is divorced and has 3 kids, one out of college, one a sophomore in college, and one an 8th grader. My bff and i decided we want to do a project to raise money for him. We want to make and sell bracelets (the kind you make with string) and give all the proceeds to him. but we have one problem. we know we can easily…

Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is right around the corner!

For me, this is a big thing because I know people who had/have Breast Cancer and I also lost my aunt from Breast Cancer. My grandma lost her battle from cancer back in April of this year. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month I want to do special things for the both of them, and raise more money for Breast Cancer. Even though my grandma didn't have Breast Cancer, I know that she would be very proud of me raising money and doing…

Do you have any ideas??

I have a very special project that I am working on, and what I do is spread awareness of cancer and the effects of it, and what people can do to help. This is a very broad category and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to help do this?? It can be ANYTHING!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

May 10, 2010: Relay for Life

Our school just ended a fundraiser for Relay for Life. We participate in this support program every year, and I am proud to say that we did amazingly. Our goal was $5000, and we always complete a money-raising part in which every third period class donates whatever is in their pockets or any money they bring from home, plus the annual walk - our goal covered both of these parts.

We have yet to complete the walk, and already we have met our goal.

Some of our…

I shaved my head, and raised money for childrens cancer!!

A few weeks at my school, we had an event called St. Baldrick's and people can raise money for the children who have cancer, and also, if they have 10 or more inches of hair, they may donate it to locks of love. I donated 13 inches of hair, shaved the rest to honour the kids who have cancer, and raised about $100.

CANCER? NO THANKS.

This morning at school I gave 10 euros to the AIRC, an association for cancer research . In exchange for my donation they gave me some delicious oranges from Sicily. Oranges, like other foods rich in vitamins and antioxidants are an important aid in the prevention of different diseases, not least the cancer. To find more information about AIRC you can connect to this address: http://www.arancedellasalute.it/

Kids Against Cancer

At my high school we have a club called Kids Against Cancer. We have meetings to set up programs including raffles, toy drives, etc. This year we are having pink day where the whole school is going to dress in pink in support of people who are fighting breast cancer, and their bravery and strength. We as a group of teenagers enjoy helping people, if we know them or not. Knowing, we as teens, no matter how young, in a large world can help the world become a better place, and we as individuals in… Continue

Breast Cancer

My aunt unfortunately lost her life from breast cancer a few years ago. She has two little daughters. It is probably very hard growing up without your mother, so they think of me as their "big sister". I feel so bad, and I'm always here for them. So, in my family, Breast Cancer is a very important thing. My family and I attend the Breast Cancer walks. We are always donating money to the Breast Cancer foundation. Even if you don't know anyone with this cancer, or any other cancer, doesn't mean… Continue

My inspiration...

A little over two years ago, in the beginning of 2007, I discovered the world of Miley Cyrus. Since then, Miley Cyrus has become such an inspiration to me. She is such a strong person. She knows what she wants in life. She is so good to everyone whose path she crosses. Miley recently performed at the Concert for Hope in Los Angeles. The Concert for Hope is a benefit concert that raises money for the City of Hope’s cancer research efforts. Patients at the City of Hope hospital can attend this… Continue
