My name is Kristen and some of my friends just call me "K". I am an active youth volunteer in our community doing mainly charity work and helping out and teaching young kids to read and write. Been doing my term papers lately and I chose the topic of volunteerism and humanitarian work. I think not so many are aware that even in their own little way, they can help solve the problems in their neighborhood. =)

I've recently learned that using alot of napkins harms the environment. Me, I use ALOT of napkins when I eat. My tray is always filled with them. I've decided to cut back on my napkin use at meals. I now use one or two instead of 10 or 12. It was hard at first but I've gotten used to it now. And if I can cut down, I know you can too!



Also, use the hand dryers in bathrooms unstead of paper towels. I know the hand dryers can be annoying and some don't dry your hands, but it's sooo much… Continue

The bag of paper I recycled was the size of a trash can, but the paper will be going into a recycling bin instead of a trash bin.



The next things I plan to recycle are all the soft drink bottles in the garage, and plastic things that I can recycle.



I am currently reviewing a book on how to fix computers, so when I volunteer at free geek vancouver : http://freegeekvancouver.org/ I be more prepared to help them fix computers… Continue
