Get Ur Good On

Get Ur Good ON 4 Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!! ;D

Many women do not learn much about breast health unless they breastfeed or they have a problem that needs medical attention. Becoming familiar with breast anatomy and physiology can help you understand and raise your voice against Breast Cancer! Each year, more than 290,000 U.S. women will be diagnosed with breast and gynecologic cancers, and more than 67,000 women will DIE from these cancers. Breast cancer is the type where cells in the breast divide and grow without normal control. About 85% of breast cancers begin in the mammary ducts, while about 15% arise in the lobules. Tumors in the breast tend to grow slowly. By the time a lump is large enough to feel, it may have been growing for as long as 10 years. However, some tumors can be aggressive, and grow much more rapidly. Both men and women can get breast cancer. So why wait till it’s too LATE? That’s why Getting Your Good ON for BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH is so important!!!

This year, I decided to once again Get My Good ON for this cause. When I read the blog post about GET UR GOOD ON for Breast Cancer Awareness Month Contest, I thought it was GREAT & FUN because it encouraged teens (like me) to actually be part of the CURE by spreading the awareness in different kind of ways. They even made a list of ideas on how you can Get Ur Good On for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It really helped lots of teens get involved & like me… try NEW ways to Get Ur Good ON for Breast Cancer.

First thing I did on October was click “Like” to every Breast Cancer Awareness page/group I found on Facebook (including City of Hope, The Breast Cancer Site & more), turning my profile Pink for this whole month! I found out that The Breast Cancer Site helps sponsors pay for mammograms with every click you hit at http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=2 since then I’ve been clicking. Then I bought a $10 t-shirt to the American Cancer Association of Puerto Rico and participated on their annual walk for the cure at Yauco, PR! It was a long and tiresome walk under the sun, but when you’re with friends and family, thinking you are giving the best, you can make it and its worth it! Then I bought some pink Sharpies! I made my autograph inking it pink and uploaded to the Sharpie Uncapped website. To see my autograph hit http://showcase.sharpieuncapped.com/pages/sharpieinkitpink/showimage/551323.

I really think the code word to every cause is AWARENESS. If you don’t raise your voice and show people these causes, they would never ask or help any of them. So start using bracelets, pins, t-shirts, writing blogs, all sort of things to support not only breast cancer but all kind of needs. This year I had a blast of FUN while supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, thanks to Get Ur Good On. Hope for everybody a good and healthy life. That’s all for now… Remember to: GET uR GOOD oN! ;D

Sincerely, Natasha Ayala <3
