well for starters why dont you try recycling all of those cans, bottles and paper that ends up around the house? Its a great way to give back to mother earth when you recycle. Plus, usually you can get money for the cans and or bottles that you take back to depots, but i dont know what its like there. haha. But ya or just try to use a brita or something instead of water bottles all of the time.
