osment_eyeprime_53_2.jpg There is a bullying, anti-hate campaign called LOVE IS LOUDER. I came across this campaign when I was reading an article about children and young teens being bullied.
There are six types of bullying. Bullying isn’t just about getting punched in the face or kicked around or being called names. There is physical bullying, which is physical contact that would hurt or injure a person; like punching, kick, or even stealing something that doesn’t belong to you. There is also verbal bullying, which is name-calling, making fun of someone’s religion or gender and making offensive remarks about someone.
There is also indirect bullying, which is spreading rumors or stories about someone, or telling others about something that was told to you in private. There is even social alteration which is when a bully excludes someone from a group on purpose.
The newest bullying is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is bullies that are bullying people over the internet using computers and cellphones. Cyberbullying is done by sending messages, pictures, or important information using the electronic media. Cyberbullying happens differently than face to face. It happens through the use of technology, computers, cell phones and other electronic device. Examples of cyber bullying: sending hurtful, rude mean text messages to others.
Spreading rumors or lies about other people can hurt. Emails or social networking. Websites like Facebook is one thing people use for cyberbullying.
Stop the harsh words, the pushing and shoving. Stop the name-calling and stop the lying rumors. The words you say about or to people do hurt. You just don’t know it because it’s not happening to you. It still hurts.
