Angel Tree

Hi! This is my first blog post on Get Ur Good On.

What good thing am I doing?

I am saving up some money that I set aside for the Angel Tree for next Christmas. The Angel Tree is an organization that helps children that otherwise wouldn't get Christmas presents actually get something that they would like. The parents or guardians of these children sign up for the Angel Tree and they put what the kid needs or wants. Usually the Angel Tree comes to the mall and there are several small Christmas trees with little cards that have the childs' name and what he/she wants. People can take as many of these off of the tree as they can afford and shop for them. There is a date on the card that says when you are to bring the things you buy for them back to the mall.

I am saving up for this so early because I want to be able to get lots of kids off the trees and buy them the things they want/need. Last year I got 7 different cards and I only had $35 which was not very much for that many kids, and so that is why it is smart to already be starting to save up for it now.

If you are looking for something good to do for your community, I'd recommend looking to see if the Angel Tree is in your area near Christmas time. Also I'd recommend starting to save up for it now. I think that it is really fun, and I have a good time doing it. It is nice to go shopping for these kids. You are being their Santa Claus that they wouldn't have if it weren't for you.
