Summer is a great time to get your good on; great weather and a bunch of free time to give back to your community. This summer I focussed on helping my family and friends do simple tasks. I did the simplest thing and helped my grandparents cook a meal for the family. It may of been simple, but everything counts! I also helped water the grass, and go run some shopping errands as well. Pass it on!
I also helped the environment this year by planting flowers and other plants at my house, both grandparents houses, and friends houses. I also planted vegetables such as cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes (although tomatoes are a fruit) in my yard. They grew very nicely and made an excellent salad! :)
I had the opportunity to go on a cruise with my parents and cousin this summer, and I bought a reusable cup to use when getting soda from the bar, instead of the plastic cups they would supply you with.
This school year I am hoping to really get my good on. I am planning on volunteering at the local animal shelter once I get settled into school. I really enjoy working with animals so I am sure I will have a lot of fun while helping out. I also just received a brochure in the mail for this years annual Walk For Autism at my school, which I will no doubt be there. I will also again be joining the Key Club at my school, and they hold many volunteering events and such. Can't wait!!!!!!
What did you guys do in the summer? Are you planning on anything special for this school year?
