I had the opportunity to attend the Miley Cyrus concert by invitation of "Ger Ur Good On" and Youth Service America this part Wednesday. I got to take two of my friends and found out a few days before that we were going to get to meet her before the concert! My friends and I were so excited!!! Well, I also had an audition for the lead role in a new Disney pilot before the concert which is in the Hollywood area so about 35 miles from Anaheim. Out of the 8yrs I have been pursuing my acting career which is driving from San Diego to Los Angeles/Hollywood ... my mom always made sure we made it to every audition, job, event, etc, as she always found a way. Unfortunately, traffic was just too crazy on Wednesday and despite my mom's desparate attempt to get us there for the "meet & greet" with Miley, we were 5 minutes too late! My friends and I were so disappointed and my mom felt so bad! We went to eat dinner as we still were going to go to the concert and my mom apologized as she was upset too that she couldn't get us there on time but then she said something to us that made us all stop and think. My mom said that life is full of ups and downs and that if we were meant to meet Miley that day ... it would have happened so for whatever reason, it wasn't meant to be on that day, at that time. She also said that whenever one door closes, another one always opens. I guess it's one of those life lessons that we will all understand more as we get older and grow as individuals. For me, I have had the opportunity to meet many famous people and go to some very cool events after being on the show "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" so that's one reason I was upset because I knew my friends haven't had that opportunity so I was excited for them to get to meet Miley.
I especially want to thank the people from "Get Ur Good On", "Youth Service America, and the Miley Cyrus people for the amazing opportunity and for the AWESOME seats at the concert. I wish we could've met Miley so I guess it will wait for another day, an even better opportunity to meet her.
