Service-Learning "with one little action, the chain reaction will never stop"

What is service-learning to me … well it’s an interactive way were WE can get a group of people to help in our community. I’ve done some already with habitat for humanity. Habitat for humanity is an organization where we build homes for the ones in need of them. In my school we build homes in the surrounding areas. In this task we are able to help in the construction site but we leave the more intuitive duties to the older guys. I think doing hands on activities will motivate you to do something good! We build, learn, and help at the same time!
My thoughts on how I will be doing a service-learning project:
Today, I was making cream puffs, I understand that’s random but I’m getting somewhere. I thought what if I actually did something with these cream puffs or any baked goods. This idea is heading two directions! I was thinking that if I did a little mini lesson on how to bake. Although my house can’t accommodate 50 people in the kitchen my schools kitchen will sure hold 35 people. Baking is a fun way to do a project not only that you can get to eat the extras you can also help someone. Whether it be cookies, pastries, cupcakes, or brownies the deserts are quite endless; it will also satisfy someone’s hunger. I’ve helped many bake sales ever since elementary school because I had this love of baking. It is quite simple with a recipe and what we can do is either sell the baked goods and donate to a charity or we can send them to the nearest soup kitchen. We have a soup kitchen about 20 minutes from our area and a homemade baked good with certain warm their soul. Its such an amazing feeling when a persons face glows with happiness.
If you are inspired by this entire idea, go for it! I mean its not stealing its just simple taking it into action. If you can’t hold a class at your home or at your school simply make a video of an instructional food-making lesson. To make it even more fun get your friends to do it with you! Post the video on youtube and share the link to your friends, classmates, and teachers. If groups and groups of people will run a bake sale or donate to a soup kitchen it is bound to be a success!
