Get Ur Good On

After being through evetthing I've been through these last three and a half years, I can honestly say that one of the hardest things is figuring out and balancing what matters and what doesn't. The ability to weed through social inadequacies and distinguish the superficial is something you can only acquire on your own. It's amazing the energy people will put forth in putting someone down, or figuring out whose dating who, or when the next party is. What you don't realize is that there IS a world outside of your town. Sadly, our generation has grown ignorant not because of lack of opportunity (of knowledge) but rather, a lack of concern. We need to change that.. There is a bigger picture and the scary thing is, our generation is painting it. Our entire lives we've had to adapt to change. Now (and as we grow older) we have the ability to make it. It's ridiculous the amount of gossip and care for other people's business that runs through this world. For example some people are crazy about Miley Cyrus. I wonder hoe many kids out there just join this site because she is a part of it. I wonder if this means anything to them. I hope it does. If there is anything that life has taught me it's the ability to distinguish temporary situations from long-term ones. I can't speak for everyone, but I can promise you, the things that you consider issues now, most likely wont even cross your mind when your older. (Take note that I said I CANT speak for everyone..some people do have rather life changing issues they are facing. This article is about SUPERFICIAL inadequacies) My advice to you would be, break away from the dramatic scene as soon as possible. Granted, it may be putting that much-awaited popularity at risk, however, thats when you have to step back and think.."what makes me popular?" and "does it really matter?". Perhaps im just wired differently than everyone else, but thats okay because im comfortable with who I am and what I stand for. One things for sure, I will not allow this portrait of our generation to be painted without my brush. I'm going to try my best to paint a better picture for out world, our home.
