Get Ur Good On

I live in a very tiny community (1 sqaure mile) and i'd love to help it out but i feel like the everyone my age is to focused on this and that. But most definitely aren"t thinking about helping others, volunteering, or making a difference for people who aren't lucky enough to even get fed everyday without a free lunch from the school. I will admit that i haven't done anything either but that is going to end and i really want to change the attitudes of atleast some students in my school of maybe 400. If you have any advice to how i can start please let me know... or even programs that would help get my school pumped to do helpful and great things. Thank you very very much.

Thank you so very much. You gave me excellent ideas and i think i am gonna follow through on some of them to start out. I really want to do something in my school such as recycling (that should e an easy task though) and then i want to help children in my community. But once again Thank You!!!

Just start! Do something like clean-up the street or write the mayor about curb-side recycling! Maybe ask your principal about having an assembly about community service and challenge each class to do something good for the earth, people's health or anything! Hope this gave you an idea!

I can't say I have the same problem, since my community is very large and next to a major city, but the best place to start is on the internet or in your school! My school has over 100 clubs, so you can try starting one of your own. Try volunteetmatch.org, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Peace Corps, WWE, and even ASPCA websites for tips on starting your own cause. You could give back to soldiers by making care packages, volunteer at hospitals, set up a soup kitchen, tutor students, volunteer at animal shelters, and much more! Try seeing if you can start a volunteering organization/club at your school or community center. You could also try asking the mayor of your city to sponsor/help. Hope I helped!

I'm in a similar predicament in my school so this year I'm starting a community service club at my school. You should talk to some of your friends and see if they're interested.
