Commenting on the importance of World Telecommunication Day said Dr. Hessa Al Jaber, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the contacts that we have a special reason in Qatar for this celebration, since we are in the middle of the road and the process of opening the telecommunications market to competition for the first time, which means that individuals and companies will have the option of selecting providers of telephone service that they want. She added: "Previous experience has shown the world that at the level of market opening and competition leads to lower prices and improve services as well as innovation in telephone services to the public.
We in the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology admire these benefits to the citizens and residents of the State of Qatar, and we know that the multinational companies and across the world are hungry to get Internet service, high-speed, and we believe that market liberalization and open competition means more growth for the economy of the country.
