- How did you celebrate Global Youth Service Day?
- This year celebrate it! Making a SHOW with my friends on the 24th for our community elders. The show included a recicled material clothing FASHION SHOW, a TALENT SHOW (singing + dancing), and since EARTH DAY was the 22nd, at the end of the show we sang HAPPY B-DAY to our Planet EARTH!!! WE served our community while doing this... by creating an entertainment and at the same time demonstrating that our community youth is concerned about Enviromental Issues such as: Climate Change and Global Warming.
NEXT YEAR WILL BE MUCH MORE BETTER! GYSD!!!!! + GET UR GOOD ON!!!!
- If you were the mayor, what changes would you make in your community?
- As a mayor I would definitely have a lot of hard work making changes....
1st LESS human rights violation MORE love
2nd LESS violence MORE peace!
3rd LESS enviromental issues MORE pure nature
4th LESS poverty, homeless MORE economic help
5th LESS discrimination MORE acceptation
6th LESS exploitation MORE equality
7th LESS ignorance MORE awarness
By doing all these our country could be a better place!
- What are the 7 Things or problems in the world you want to help solve?
- I would like to help solve everything. But my 7 priorities are:
1. HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION for example •Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression... Because of human rights violation comes violence.
2.VIOLENCE without it the world could be a much better place, we would have World PEACE!!! and no more soldiers (family & friends) risking their lives for our country safety. Because of violence people provoke enviromental issues.
3.ENVIROMENTAL ISSUES helping solve these enviromental issues, such as: Climate Change, Global Warming and Nature Extintion you help SAVE OUR PLANET EARTH!
4.POVERTY if we help fight poverty, we help people survive hunger, preventable diseases and being homeless and death caused by all the above.
5.DISCRIMINATION who should care of other people race, age, gender, caste, employment, sexual orientation, language, disability or riligious life? People should STOP judging!
6.EXPLOITATION such as: child labor, child sexual exploitation, cruelty to animals, exploitation of natural resources, slavery, etc..
7.IGNORANCE people with lack of knowledge, education, or awareness are the ones we should be talking to, tell them what they're doing and why we're working on it. LESS ignorance means MORE awareness to all these problems!

- Hey! My name is Natasha Ayala Mercado. I'm 16. I live in Puerto Rico. To me SERVICE SAYS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! Where ever you are, @ home, @ school, @ your community... GET UR GOOD ON!!! I've learned that you can't expect happiness if you don't give happiness. I feel great, I feel happy and important, when I do good things for the benefit of others. I really love to serve, it's part of who I am.
