sweet summertime

Hello fellow bloggers! Happy Summer! Less than one month till college. Wahooo. Speaking of college I recently went on a 4 day service retreat for freshman at my college. It was really awesome. One day each small group visited three service sites around the city. My group went to a local church, something similar to a YMCA, and catholic social services which works with families who have visitation hours and watch over them during their weekly meetings. It was really nice when we all got back…

Sewing

I know that sewing is extremly time consuming....but isn't it better? At least it used to be. Any way, I am trying to sew a tunic (You know...short dress, long shirt) and it's a lot harder than it sounds. Once I finish I'll post a pic of it.

Every little penny counts!

Even though it doesn't seem like much, a penny can count! Collect hundred and you have a pound! Think about that the next time you find a penny or something! It counts, and you can help someone with it in the future! =)

suggestions?

Hey I'm extremely busy but I'd like to figure out a way to help. I love animals and little kids but I'm not sure exactly how I could help. I have been planning a charity event on a site called gaiaonline.com to donate money to the ST. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. All suggestions are helpful and appreciated. c: <3

Cinderella-Cinderfella!

I would like to spread the news about a GREAT cause going on in my area. Cinderella-Cinderfella Project, Inc. is an non-profit organization made over 10 years ago by a wonderful couple. Cinderella-Cinderfella allows deserving high school seniors go to prom for free once they submit an essay and have been reccommended by Social Services. All the gals get dolled up with a dress they get to keep, make-up, flowers, hair, jewelry, purses, and shoes. Guys get rented tuxes, flowers, and gifts too.…

Hey guys!

I've just taken up work assisting families in their childcare duties, through working for a Nottingham based company called @HomeChildcare. This new, enterprising organisation sends childcare workers (both paid and voluntary) out into the community to assist families who aren't able to carry out basic tasks such as ensuring their children are ready for school. It's definitely worthwhile. There are organisations like this cropping up all over the place, so definitely…

Arthritis and Lupus

Many people have arthritis or lupus. My mom has rheumatoid arthritis. And this winter she fell on the ice and broke her wrist. But 6 months later we found out she crushed one bone in her back and fractured another. So now she can't work. If we jumped on her the wrong way, she could have been paralyzed. Arthritis is where your bones are weak. Lupus is where they're so weak it's next to impossible to get up and down without pain. Most people get it because their bones don't have enough calcium.… Continue

Ashlee Janae Morgan Where to Start...?

I live in a very tiny community (1 sqaure mile) and i'd love to help it out but i feel like the everyone my age is to focused on this and that. But most definitely aren"t thinking about helping others, volunteering, or making a difference for people who aren't lucky enough to even get fed everyday without a free lunch from the school. I will admit that i haven't done anything either but that is going to end and i really want to change the attitudes of atleast some students in my school of…

How Paul S. has impacted my life

Paul S might as well be the reason i am here in the first place.
He is more than just my boyfriend.
He is my introduction to a better future.

My number one hope for this world, hand in hand with wanting to bring down to 0 the number of children who die of diarrhea a day, is to have people wrap their heads around DRUGS & ALCOHOL.

I have a stronger belief than… Continue

Cancer in Children

Cancer is a really serious thing. When I was in fifth grade my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. That really hit me hard, from the time I found out about the cancer till the time my mom received her last chemotherapy treatment I was truly in a state of depression, it was like even if something good was happening my mom being sick was always in the back of my head. I was young, but I was smart. I knew the seriousness of my mother's… Continue
